Tanteidan 2001
I went to the 7th Tanteidan Convention last year in August, I was amazed at the level of origami in Japan and from around the world. It was better than I ever imagined.I made some papercrane.org t-shirts before leaving and gave them to a few people, from memory, Tomoko Fuse, Joseph Wu, John Montroll, Professor Junio Suzuki, and Jun Maekawa bought one for about 3500 yen in the auction!
Here are some photos.
John Montroll and myself.
The famous ashi origami (foot folding). All those cranes on the floor were folded by foot, you should have seen the quality by Tomoko Fuse, Chris Palmer, and Peter Budai, they surely have to much time on their feet ;-)
An amazing dragon, not folded by feet!
Some folds by Chris Palmer.
I really had a fantastic time, so much to remember, so little time to write. Hats off to Yamaguchi and his team at Origami house! See you again this year I hope.
